Magical Madagascar Photography Expedition

Nov 1st to 12th, 2024

Join renowned wildlife photographer Jay Collier on an unforgettable photo expedition to Madagascar (with optional 4 day pre-tour extension to Mashatu in Botswana for the ultimate wildlife photography combination)

Madagascars removal from Africa caused its evolutionary path to stray from that on the main continent and has resulted in a wildlife and nature of a seriously un-familiar territory for most people. In fact, at times you wonder if you are on planet earth at all! Shaped like an omelet, this large island offers the photographer the most diverse range of subjects to photograph. At times you don’t know whether to point your lens at the bird life, reptiles or lemurs jumping around you.

Lemurs, elephant birds, baobabs, chameleons, reptiles, vangas and many other species have evolved into unique forms that are only to be seen on these islands. If you have a penchant for discovery and exploration, then a safari to Madagascar is for you.

Ethiopia is the cradle of our earliest known ancestors; a hub for some of the first Christians, Muslims, Jews and a last frontier for some of Africas most intriguing photogenic tribal traditions. This photographic tour has a focus on photographing portraits and documenting some of the most remote and unique tribes and cultures throughout the Omo Valley.

Join Jay Collier and Shem Compion to gain exclusive access to tribes and villages rarely visited by tourists due to their remote locations and lack of roads. We will travel by boat deep into regions where most others do not go in order document the daily lives of the traditional people.
